Mad about Mauve
I have been on the fence about bringing back the mauve-grey hits from the 80’s as I distinctly remember my father’s Aztec phase on his four poster bed. He thought he was stylish, and I am sure there were others who agreed. I think this time around it is more about mixing in glam elements. It’s all about being MAUVE-U-LOUS!
Mauve i/ˈmoʊv/ (from the French form of Malva “mallow“) is a pale purple color, which is named after themallow flower. The first use of the word mauve as a color was in 1796-8 according to the Oxford English Dictionary, but its use seems to have been rare before 1859. Another name for the color is mallow with the first recorded use ofmallow as a color name in English in 1611.
